This is a great set if you need more than will fit in your pocket, but less than what would fit in a regular fannypack, backpack, or shoulder bag. both the bag (with a fold-away hipbelt) and the watercolor set itself are well-designed and sturdy. The paint box is small and shallow enough to slip in your pocket, but it suffers a bit from low quailty paint cakes (easily replaceable)and a water tray to small and shallow to be really useful. I bought this quite a while ago and have popped the watercolor set in my pocket or shoulder bag a number of times for quick sketches, but I have yet to use it in the fannypack case it came in, since I have found that when I want to cart around something that bulky, I have better choices at hand (like the more comfortable and roomy Gregory fanny pack I use for dayhikes). But if you're looking for an affordable 1-stop solution to portable paint needs, then this is a great choice.
