Artguard Barrier Cream

Product Description

Light and non-greasy, this silicone-based cream rubs easily into the skin to form an invisible barrier against artist’s materials. Irritating substances won’t penetrate the skin, and colors wash off easily with soap and water. Pleasantly scented, made from an emulsion of moisturizers, waxes, glycerin, and natural oil, Artguard Barrier Cream not only protects, but conditions the skin as well.

Before Artguard the skin on my hands was constantly cracked and chapped by sensitivity to oil painting solvents. I'm allergic to Latex and other gloves I've tried feel clumsy. Since I've been using Artguard, I have no problems with dry skin and clean up is a breeze! I can go straight from a painting session to a client lunch with a simple soap-wash of my hands and not look messy--even under my fingernails. I love this stuff and feel it has to be protecting my health as well as making life easier.

I first came across this marvelous product about 7 years ago when I resumed oil painting. It makes washing your hands a breeze and protects them from solvents and prevents the drynss that results from frequent handwashing.

I use the is cream anytime you absolutly CAN NOT wear latex gloves. I'm not sure how affective it is for other materials otherthen arcylic paints, but i figure its better then nothing. One of the things i use it for the most is plumbers epoxy putty, which needs to be mixed and applied by hand, but is nasty stuff.
